Programme Info
Escape Arts offers inclusive and meaningful Work Experience and Youth Volunteering placements for young people aged 14 and above.
Young people can apply for a one week placement or choose to fulfil a required amount of hours over a number of weeks or months. Our Work Experience Programme gives you the opportunity to work with a wide range of people, learn about community arts and the positive impact the arts has on mental health, support local events and festivals, and even plan your own creative project. We also facilitate youth volunteering placements for young people undertaking their of Edinburgh Award and Arts Award.
Work Experience Placement activities include:
- Attending an induction and taking part in meetings to understand Escape Arts and the role we play in the local community.
- Taking part in our adult community art workshops, supporting participants, and learning new creative skills.
- Attending and supporting our youth clubs and activities at the new Stratford Youth Hub.
- Supporting us with any arts preparation, for example creating examples of artwork for local festivals, events or an upcoming community project.
- Planning and delivering a presentation on a creative activity of your choosing and how you might adapt this activity when working with our different community groups.
Get in touch to learn new skills, build your confidence and be part of a fun, friendly and professional team who will support you all the way.
