Governance & Policies
Escape: Community Art in Action (trading as Escape Arts) is a charity based in Stratford upon Avon whose area of benefit covers Warwickshire and surrounding areas. As well as being a registered charity, it is a registered company limited by guarantee, not having a share capital (hence a non-profit organisation).
It is run by a small team of dedicated staff led by the CEO. It is governed by a Board of Trustees. Trustees usually serve a three-year term from appointment, with the opportunity to stand for further three-year terms, provided that no trustee may serve for more than nine years.
Governance of the charity is achieved through the following meeting structure:
- Board - four meetings per year, plus one off-site strategy day
- Finance Sub-Committee - four meetings per year
- Operations Sub- Committee - four meetings per year
- HR Sub-Committee – four meetings per year
A vacancy now exists for 2-3 trustees to be appointed for a term of 3 years to bring one or more of the following skills and experience to complement the Board:
- Qualified Accountant with Finance and Commercial Management experience at Board level
- Safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults
- Health sector and wellbeing for children and vulnerable adults
We are also seeking a candidate with a Senior/Executive background and inclusive leadership skills to serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees and the successful applicant will have a period on the Board to shadow the current Interim Co-Chairs before taking over the role.
2022 was Escape Arts’ 25th Birthday, this is a great time to join us!
We want to hear from people of different backgrounds, cultures, age and identity to bring a wide range of experience and ideas to our organisation. If you would like to play a key role in helping your local community please send us a copy of your CV and a brief written statement (500 words) to info@escapearts.org.uk.
