Pride of Stratford Educators of the Year 2018
Escape Arts has over 20 years experience of delivering successful, innovative creative workshops and educational creative heritage workshops in schools.
Do you want us to deliver professional, bespoke projects which aim to inspire creative thinking and support curriculum studies?
School Commissions
Escape Arts delivers practical based workshops in line with the current National Curriculum.
As we have a team of experienced artist practitioners with their own specialisms, we are well placed to help your KS1 pupils ‘use materials creatively to design and make products’ as well as help your KS2 pupils to have ‘an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design’.
We can tailor projects to meet your objectives ensuring effective delivery in terms of communication, resources and organisation.
Inspiring workshops and talks to enhance your school events, visits and curriculum
The Old Slaughterhouse
We will use this rich slice of Stratford Heritage to devise a programme of activities suitable for Key Stage 2 & 3 pupils.
They may include opportunities to handle original historical objects and take part in role play activities. Each session will be tailored to be age appropriate and relevant to the National Curriculum.
We can offer activities exploring the following themes: Food in World War II, The Changing High Street, Meat: Then and Now, Historic Site Occupations – the Ropemaker, the Wine Merchant, the Tudor Brewer, the Chemist and the Butcher.
Activities on offer – Guided tours through the building, object handling, drama & creative writing workshops, art workshops in response to historical themes.
Resources on offer – Oral History interviews, photographs, copies of historical documents, loan boxes.
National Arts Award Accreditation
Escape Arts is a registered Arts Award Centre.
Arts Award inspires young people to grow their arts and leadership talents: it’s creative, valuable and accessible.
Escape can offer Arts Award at five levels, four accredited qualifications Explorer, Bronze, Silver and Gold and an introductory Discover award.
We can help schools develop an arts award programme through after school provision or within the school timetable.
We can also work with schools already delivering Arts Award to provide work experience placements, volunteering, arts mentoring and arts networking.
Flowers for Elizabeth
The Escape Arts team were deeply saddened to hear of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
We recognise the enormous contribution she made to our country and our lives and in response, we invited the general public of Stratford-upon-Avon and local schools to contribute to a public art floral tribute of thanks in remembrance of our beloved Queen.
With your help we were able to fill Stratford Town Centre with purple flowers, representing respect and honour. Collectively, we created a fitting tribute in the window spaces at Debenhams to complement the existing Jubilee exhibition celebrating the Queen’s reign.
With the help of 16 schools across Stratford district, Scouts, Brownies, Cubs, Community Groups, Nurseries, and many families and individuals all came together in passing of our Queen, Elizabeth II, to pay tribute by creating this beautiful and creative project.
We'd like to give a massive thank you to Arts Council England, Our Town Trust and Big Lottery Community Fund for helping us create this masterpiece to be proud of.
How can we help?
We'd love to work with your school to enrich the creative lives of your students and we can help deliver varied and bespoke projects for you.
